The Central Region Prevention Resource Center (CR PRC), an initiative of the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), coordinates and assists community coalition building addressing alcohol and other substance use and abuse prevention across thirteen central New York counties. Guided by the principles of the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF), the CR PRC focuses on networking and implementing environmental prevention strategies such as educating about and enforcing policies related to alcohol and substance abuse prevention. CR PRC services include consultation, technical assistance and training, group capacity building, creating and maintaining a regional database of community coalitions and OASAS providers, and the dissemination of prevention research and best practice.
